Fluid, unique design language: the new Coya design series from Dornbracht

With Coya, the faucet manufacturer Dornbracht is expanding its portfolio with an innovative highlight. The new bathroom design series captivates with its fluid form, which moves effortlessly between different styles. Circles and squares merge into a flowing unity—effortlessly uniting apparent opposites. The striking look was designed by Sieger Design.
The beauty of contradiction
As the first new product launched by Dornbracht under the brand claim “Inspiring your vision,” Coya signals a new approach: Its design embodies an openness to contrasts and unconventional design concepts—transforming the faucet into a mediator between geometries. From the spout to the rosettes and handles, every detail reflects this unique design language. Gently shaped handles immediately invite touch. “We were focused on the beauty found in contradiction,” explains designer Michael Sieger. “Coya is neither round nor angular in design and thus defies clear categorization. At first glance, it seems surprising, almost counterintuitive. Only to appear incredibly coherent in the very next moment.”
Bridging Opposing Worlds
The complex fusion of circle and square—characterized by smooth transitions—known as the “squircle,” is fully committed to the transitional style: a blend of traditional and contemporary elements that balances the tried-and-true with the new. Existing boundaries are set in motion, become fluid, and are redefined. “With its hybrid form, Coya brings together very different worlds,” says Caroline Schmitt, Managing Director of Dornbracht. “It is therefore perfectly suited for individually designed spaces that do not follow a single, consistent style, but many at once,” she concludes.
Stringent Product Concept
The launch of Coya is accompanied by a comprehensive concept for all application areas, including a wide range of finishes. Dornbracht’s rich finishes are particularly striking on the expansive forms—whether chrome, champagne (22-karat gold), or brushed bronze. A product range extending from the washbasin to the tub and shower, right through to the accessories, also ensures that Coya’s characteristic design is reflected throughout the entire bathroom. Numerous customization options available through Dornbracht Atelier, such as interchangeable handle inlays, round out the offering—and demonstrate the fixture’s impressive versatility.
